OUR MISSION
Every child deserves to experience unconditional love, hope and safety. It is the mission of Royal Family Kid’s Camp to provide an environment where children aged 7-11 who have be traumatized, disadvantaged or dislocated may have such an experience.
Mesa Church, originally established as Newport Mesa Christian Center in 1935, has played a pivotal role in the genesis and growth of Royal Family Kids Camp (RFKC). In 1985, congregants Wayne and Diane Tesch launched the first RFKC through the church, aiming to provide a week-long summer camp experience for children in foster care who had suffered abuse, neglect, or abandonment. This initiative was grounded in the belief that a single week of unconditional love and attention could profoundly impact a child's life.
The camp curriculum and activities are woven through the modality of Trust-Based Relational Intervention to ensure our children are experiencing truly life giving activities throughout the 5-day experience.

Every child deserves a week to just be a kid—a week full of laughter, love, and lasting memories. That’s exactly what Royal Family Kids Camp provides for children in the foster care system who have experienced abuse, neglect, or abandonment.
This life-changing week includes swimming, crafts, hiking, music, games, and a very special birthday party—often the first one some of these children have ever had. But more importantly, it’s a time when they are surrounded by compassionate, trained, and background-checked volunteer counselors and staff who show them God’s unconditional love.
